You can still do EFT without touching your face!
EFT International has recommended that in lieu of the current global condition, that we are sure to wash hands before tapping the face acupoints of the basic recipe but also has recognized that some people may now prefer to avoid face points entirely or may want alternatives for when handwashing is not readily available. I have compiled most of the commonly used alternate acu-points in this recipe and when I have tried it myself, I have experienced comparable beneficial affects.
Points #4 “ sore spot” are actually an official alternate for side of hand, and so in terms of acupoint impact are duplicates. They also can be tender and so are usually better to just press or rub. You can also easily skip those beautiful stand alone points and still have a pretty substantial recipe.
I like to press my wrist 3 fingers from the crease with my thumb on the inside and my middle finger on the back side so I am gently pinching both sides.
Finger points are on the side and one way is squeezing the sides of each finger tip. Finger points cover a lot of energetic territory and can be a practice all of themselves.
These points or this sequence is not necessarily the one that all the research has been done on, but you can know from your own experience whether it is similarly effective for you. As with all EFT let nothing get in your way, if you have favorite points or need a simpler recipe, it is okay to experiment and adjust accordingly. Check in with yourself before and after to fully notice the results.
